Glastonbury 2024: Tickets sell out in record time as fans eagerly await lineup reveal

Glastonbury 2024

The first batch of tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2024 went on sale today (Thursday 2 November) at 6pm GMT, and were sold out in a matter of minutes. Fans who wanted to secure a coach travel option had to pay a deposit of £75 per person, plus the coach fare, when booking their tickets online. The demand was so high that the official website crashed several times, leaving many hopefuls frustrated and disappointed.

According to the festival’s co-organiser Emily Eavis, more than 200,000 people tried to buy coach tickets, but only 15,000 were available. She thanked everyone for their patience and support, and reminded them that there will be another chance to get tickets on Sunday 5 November at 9am GMT, when the general admission tickets go on sale.

While the full lineup for Glastonbury 2024 has not been announced yet, Emily Eavis has dropped some hints about who will be headlining the Pyramid Stage next year. In an interview with BBC Radio 2, she revealed that two of the three headliners could be women, and that the Legend Slot will be filled by a female act as well. She also said that there will be some surprises and new additions to the festival, which will celebrate its 54th edition in June 2024.

Some of the names that have been rumoured to headline Glastonbury 2024 include Adele, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish. The only act that has been officially confirmed so far is Diana Ross, who will perform in the Legend Slot on Sunday afternoon.
