The announcement of their romance came after Gomez faced a lot of criticism for her stance on the war in the Middle East. The former Disney star had expressed her heartbreak over the “horror, hate, violence, and terror” that was happening in the region and said that she wished she could change the world. However, some online users slammed her for being “narcissistic” and making the ongoing war “about herself.”
Gomez responded to the backlash by deleting her Instagram account for a week and then returning with a post that defended her new beau. She wrote, “I’m sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can’t stand innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t. Love, Selena.”
She also added, “And to those who are trying to tear down my relationship with Benny, you don’t know anything about us. He’s the most kind, caring, and supportive person I’ve ever met. He makes me happy, and he makes me a better person. So please, stop spreading hate and negativity. We don’t need that in this world.”
Gomez and Blanco Have a Long History of Collaboration
Gomez and Blanco have been working together for several years, as the record producer has co-produced many of her songs, including her latest track, Single Soon. He was also among her celebrity friends who attended her 31st birthday party earlier this year.
According to a source who spoke to a celebrity Instagram account, DeuxMoi, Gomez, and Blanco have been romantically involved for “quite some time” now, and they are very serious about each other. The source also said that Gomez’s previous fling with British singer Zayn Malik was “more of a distraction” than a real relationship.
Gomez and Blanco Are Planning to Release a Cookbook Together
Apart from their musical collaboration, Gomez and Blanco also share a passion for cooking. The duo has been teasing their fans with glimpses of their upcoming project, which is a cookbook that features their favorite recipes.
