Howery and Rogers win big for their charities
Abdul’s blunder did not cost her the game, as she still managed to win $22,650 for her charity, Friends Are By Your Side Inc., which provides wigs and support for women and children battling cancer. However, she was outshined by her fellow contestants, who both won more than $100,000 each.
Howery, who is known for his roles in Get Out and Bad Trip, was the big winner of the night, as he took home $147,050 for his charity, MAAFA Redemption Project, which helps young men in Chicago overcome violence, addiction, and incarceration. He solved the final puzzle, which was “CATCHING SOME Z’S,” and won the $100,000 bonus round.
Rogers, who is the co-host of the podcast Las Culturistas and the star of the HBO Max show Haute Dog, was not far behind, as he won $104,050 for his charity, Story Pirates Changemakers, which fosters creativity and literacy in children. He also solved a puzzle that stumped Abdul, which was “STRAIGHTENING UP THE HOUSE.”.
